Children are very curious and ask great questions. This book does a great job answering questions about nature. For example, the little boy is curious to know, "Where does the dandelion fluff go when it blows away?". His mother does a great job answering those sometimes hard to answer questions. ( )

My very first thought after reading this was "Pretty pictures. Bit hippy-dippy, but I like it."

Upon closer reflection, I mostly still think that. A little boy wants to know why the sun goes down and where it goes, and is told that the sun doesn't go down so much as go shine on another side of the world. And he's told similar things about the wind, and the seasons, and the sea and so on - there's no end to any of it.

So, yes, vaguely new-agey, but I see nothing in it that could offend... well, anybody. The book would work well with anybody's sensibilities as a nice, comforting, before-bed book.

(I gave this an extra star because one of the earlier reviewers gave this only one star with an overwhelmingly positive review, so I suspect she misunderstood how the stars work.) ( )

This is a story about a mother explaining certain things about nature to her son. She tells him that even though the day is ending in some places, that it is also the beginning in other places. The story continues with the mother further explaining different things about nature, such as wind, clouds, rain, leaves, moutains, and flowers, to her son.
I would read this book to children in kindergarten through fourth grade. A great time to read it is when students are learning about nature because there are several things about nature described in the story. ( )

Not specifically a pagan book but helps explain the circle of life concept very well.
