The first two seasons only had eight and seven episodes. Then this season exploded with 23 episodes. Without looking it up, I assume this is when the show picked up a bigger following... and studio support. This season has a mixture of repeated concepts from the first two seasons, strong episodes, and several weak ones. I thought the first two seasons had all strong episodes. With the repeated content in this third season, that was a huge disappointment. It felt like they were regressing, and not adequately attending to the topic like it was handled originally. The first two seasons consistently had character building, and this third season is more scattered in continuity. So far, though, I thoroughly recommend watching this series. The characters are fun, quirky, awesome, and wonderful people.
Possible spoiler: Unless we accidentally got an episode out of order on the DVDs, and I don't think we did, the episode where the character Chris suddenly showed up with his hair cut, was followed by an episode with his previous long hair... then back to the short hair after that. :)
