Channelling, ley lines, veganism, reincarnation, environmental concern, belief in astral bodies, telepathy, healing, spiritualism: these have all been associated with the New Age, a new and fast-growing system of beliefs, with its roots in Eastern religion, accompanied by an alternative lifestyle. Four Christian leaders set out to define what the New Age really is and to provide a detailed understanding of this fast-growing phenomenon, particularly widespread in the USA. They examine Christian responses (from acceptance to condemnation), and suggest that the Gospel represents a better hope for mankind.
