2149 England Under Queen Anne Ramillies and the Union with Scotland, by George Macaulay Trevelyan, O.M. (read 2 June 1988) This is the second volume of the three volume work: England Under Queen Anne. It tells of the war in Spain, the battle of Ramillies on May 23, 1706, the Scottish Union, and the battle of Oudenarole on July 11, 1708. I don't like the religious bias Trevelyan displays as a matter of course (this book was published first in 1932 by which time one would think he'd have dropped the bigoted terminology of the early 1700's) and I just couldn't get too interested in this book.
