This book was okay. It says what I already knew but with different foods. I appreciate the effort the author put into the calculations but there was nothing insightful that could not have been summed up in four words. Chew your food slowly. This was a short read that was "easy to digest." The concept was simple - slow down and enjoy your food. I found the suggestions for finding food that "hit the spot" very helpful. I often plan my meals around convenience instead of taste. I'll definitely be more conscious of what I'm eating. I don't think this is a life changing diet book, but it was helpful and easy to read. The focus is on taste pleasure and not calories or amount of food. An easy way to reduce how much you eat without dwelling on food itself. It doesn’t focus on what you can or can’t eat - simply on how to increase the taste sensation and pleasure of each portion of food. This is very doable and can result in losing weight simply by savouring your food. This is not a novelle idea as I have read this in other books however it is put in a way that that focuses on enjoying your food instead of management of your food and/or diet. The point is to savor food more slowly to increase enjoyment, quicken satiation, and reduce consumption. There are infancy formulas or calories to count. I'd be interested to see if there is research to back up this idea other than the author's personal experience.
