This book was okay but nothing special. The writing was fairly amaturish. I know this woman has several books published but I still thought the writing was not so good. The premise had promise but the book was so short that the characterization was severly lacking. It seemed like people ran in a out of the story like cars on a busy highway. Don't blink or you'd miss them. The book needed a lot more detail and development. I know this was a category romance but I've seen books this short done much better. ( )

Jewel is broken, her husband destroyed her self-esteem and drugged her for so long that now she can't change into a wolf and that's literally and figuratively killing her. She helped bring him down and a series of incidents convince her that he's trying to get his revenge on her. The more she tries to change the harder it's getting and the more convinced of how impossible it is she is.

Colton is a journalist trying to come to terms with his wife introducing his daughter to drugs, his daughter dying and him reporting his wife. He's bitter and trying to forge a life for himself.

Yes, it took a long while for her to reveal her story to him, and the end of the story felt a little weak but I enjoyed it. ( )

Nice writing (dew dipped spider webs) but it took almost 250 pages till the big reveal, and I kept thinking, how could any relationship grow with such a big secret being hidden for so long. I liked the h/h but didn't need to spend more time with them. And Leo, the evil villian - well why was he so evil and what was going on there... skimmed not read properly, not helped by the fact that my library copy was literally losing pages. I will read the next one, but not passionately longing to remain in contact with this world. ( )
