Don’t let the fact that Pages of Promise is a clean romantic suspense fool you, this novel packs quite the punch, and is one of my favorite suspenseful January reads.

Eliza doesn’t trust men, which is completely understandable considering everything she’s been through in her past, but it blinds her to the honorable man that has came into her life, Lance Knight. Sadly, her hope for a new life and fresh start is quickly extinguished when she starts being harassed by an unknown stalker. Lance believes it’s God’s will to protect her and despite Eliza’s stubbornness he remains faithful to her and his calling.

I loved this novel so much. The heart pounding was almost nonstop with wave after wave of suspense that kept the pages turning until I could not put the book down. Who doesn’t love a novel like that? The character development is wonderful as the reader is allowed to see the inner struggles while also witnessing them deal with this very scary threat.

“God never fails, people do” is a quote that will stick with me for a long time, and the faith that Lance has was truly inspiring to me. This is an amazing start to a new series and I cannot wait to see what’s in store.

Pages of Promise is a Christian suspenseful romance that grabbed my attention from the very beginning and held it to the very end. This is a well written, fast paced, easy to read story that is filled with action and suspense with many twists and turns.
This is an enjoyable story to read and easy to imagine. I appreciate Eliza's need to be extra careful of who she lets into her life. I enjoyed the veterans' determination to keep her safe. The suspense kept me reading to find out how someone was getting into her home undetected, who that person was and why he was targeting Eliza.
