This book covers a lot of different aspects of magnets and electricity. The information itself is great, as I think these two topics are ones that can easily grab the attention of kids, since they have very unique and fun qualities. What kid doesn’t like playing with magnets?! That being said, the book needs a bit of updating to help students today relate. It is from 1992 and so it uses things like cassette tapes and floppy disks as examples. Also, there is no real connection drawn between magnets and electricity, or separate sections. It makes me wonder why those two topics are chosen to be together. I think the author could do a better job connecting them. ( )
