From babies to grown ups this book covers many sounds that animals make. Great way to be interactive with infants and toddlers and introduce them to animal sounds.

Good for what it is, I guess - a listing of the various sounds various animals make.

Simply illustrated, just not that engaging for me and mine. And I neglected to think when I bought it about how I'd fit a tall book like that on my normal shelf for board books - it's too big to fit there, but too bulky for my regular bookshelf! ( )

Toddlers LOVE this book! They ask for it over and over and over and over again. A great book to sit down with and read one on one. A fabulous book to get the children involved during group readings. Have a child who is over active and you want to get them to starting calming down? This is an excellent book for that. They can make the animal sounds (and will probably act the animals out as well) but at least they are beginning to focus on a specific thing instead of running around aimlessly. ( )

Personal Response: This book is a perfect book for babies and toddlers. It is a sturdy book that can take the destructiveness of a child. The book puts and interesting spin on learning animal sounds. My daughter loves this book. She carries it everywhere she goes.
Extensions:
1) The teacher can use flash cards of various animals and ask the children what the animal it is and what sound does this particular animal make.
2) The teacher can use small figures (such as the fisher price animals) for the examples. She/he can ask what the name of the animal is and what sound it makes. This way gives the children a chance to touch and feel the animal. It can make it seem more realistic to the children. ( )
