This is a great story to keep kids hooked and to make them want to keep reading. I think that this would be a great early chapter book to have in the classroom so that kids feel comfortable, and interested, jumping into more difficult reads.

This book is about a detective dog and his search for the lost rabbit. He starts by looking at the fox's den, then checks in with pig and the hens, leading him to the cat and then a bug finally meeting up with the cow and the duck. After chasing the rabbit this far, all the other animals, including the fox, lead the dog back to his house. Once inside the dog is met with rabbit and a surprise birthday party. This book can definitely be used in a 2nd grade classroom. It can tell students what it is like to be a detective but in a fun manner. ( )

This book could be used for kindergarten through 3rd grade. This book is about a dog who is a detective and when his friend the rabbit goes missing he enlists the help of his other friends to find rabbit, but all of this is a trick to get detective dog out of his house so rabbit can bake detective dog's birthday cake and prepare for the surprise party. This book could potentially be used to teach children about friendship and doing nice things for others, but this message could potentially be covered up by the fact that this book is more on the imaginative side and doesn't expressly mention these types of things. This is a book about a detective dog who helps other animals find their lost pets so that he could be running around finding them and his friends could plan a surprise party for him before he got back. It's a great book for primary students to read and I think it's easy to follow. ( )
