Sophie is in love. On sunny days, she shouts it from the table top at lunchtime. Leonard is never happy about that. But Leonard is only pretending to be unhappy about it; Sophie knows the signs and Leonard is showing them all. Theirs is true, true love. This is a love story, though Leonard would deny that, and it’s irresistibly written by Larry Dane Brimner. Follow the story to its inevitable end and be prepared for a surprise. Larry Dan Brimner experienced his first writing successes--mostly in the genre of poetry--while still an undergraduate in college, but he began to focus on writing for young people during his twenty-year teaching career. Now a full-time writer and author of more than one hundred and fifty books for young readers, Larry travels frequently to speak to school children about the writing process and to share his insights at conferences of teachers and fellow writers. He lives in San Diego, California. Sue Porter was born in London and now lives in France. She is married with two children. She has illustrated more than fifty children's books, including One Potato and Parsnip. Her books have been sold in over twenty countries. Keine Bibliotheksbeschreibungen gefunden. |

I'm afraid the grammatical errors kept me from getting into the story, and I was unable to enjoy it. They were so bad that I didn't even finish reading the book.
Even though this was self published, I still held hopes that it would be enjoyable. Sadly this book NEEDED an editor, and it didn't get one. Even spell check would have gone a long way!
Ex: pg 12 "sac the city" instead of "sack the city"
pg 17 "mother has sent me to find fetch" instead of "find" or "fetch"
pg 19 "rubbing her sons arm" instead of "rubbing her son's arm", "very quite" instead of "very quiet", "where only satisfied" instead of "were only satisfied"
I question whether English is the first language of the author. ( )
