Lurlene McDaniels makes me want to cry. Half because her stories are, of course, tear-jerkers and half because her books are so good. I disagree with the title....I do want to cry! So lovely and sad and wonderful. ( )

This is the end of the Dawn Rochelle series. When Dawn is free from her cancer, she can't get it out from her mind the fear of cancer returning. Dawn has been through alot, she went through a bone marrow transplant, chemotherapy, and her best friend sandy passes away. Now that she's sixteen she wants to have just a normal life, and do what all the other kids are doing. But she always has the fear that the cancer will return, and maybe she won't be able to survive it again. Now all she has to is have courage and faith to live and have freedom. Now that she has a boyfriend that cares for her, all she has to do is live life to the fullest. After reading the end of the series, it's hard for me to understand what she does now. I think this book is a let down because, i want to read something that is not always a fiction book ending, where everything turns out good and they evil is gone. I mean, a boyfriend, going to the mall, dating, dances, what ever teens do. What is she supposed to now? I would say this is a okay ending to the series, but it wasn't that interesting.

This follows the Lurlene McDaniel formula. The girls love her books, but they aren't particularly well-written and their is no depth to the characters. The issues with infertility were contrived and not particularly interesting to YA readers. ( )
