It has been gathering dust on my shelf for years where it has been waiting to be read since I first picked it up when I was in middle-school. I always told myself that I would get to it soon but unfortunately never did so until this Halloween season. While the story is nothing extraordinary and the plot is predictable, it is a very enjoyable, cute read. It's a bit cheesy, but I found that it somehow fit the story and characters. I feel like the closest thing I can compare it to is the 'Sabrina the Teenage Witch' television series. While the two have nothing in common plot-wise, the dynamic between the paranormal and reality are similar in that a balance is created in both by humor. Overall, I actually really enjoyed it! If you're looking for a short, paranormal book series to get into that won't take up much of your time, this is a nice, safe bet. Nightshade is an old town with paranormal people and something strange is going on in the town. Samantha comes back from vacation and she is wearing all black. The cheerleaders all seem to be slowly dying.
Daisy's sisters are psychic the same as their mother. Daisy is the only one so far that hasn't seen her powers manifest so she believes she is a normal like her father, who disappeared. I enjoyed this book from the beginning and will be continuing this series. (
