I originally got bored while reading it but at the end of the story, it all gets tied together and I had an “Aww” moment! On each page there are only two to three words. For example, “Hey, me hungry!” The mother then responds, “Me busy!” I did not like the lack of grammar in the book. The story was ultimately about a cave boy who wanted something to eat. His mother was to busy with a newborn so he tried to hunt by himself. He found a porcupine and said, “Eat porcupine” but the porcupine responded and said “No, me sharp!” The boy experienced such issues with various animals until he found a friendly elephant. The elephant helped him get an apple off of the tree. The illustrations were great and took up the entire page. I feel as if though this book could have be wordless. Overall, I felt as if it was a cute book but it also dragged. Using only a dozen simple words, this humourous "prehistoric picture book" is made for reading aloud. The bold colourful illustrations and the smart, staccato sentence structures will appeal to many different age groups. For optimal effect, be sure to read this one using your best Neanderthal caveman-speak! keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
