I wasn't sure how this book would be, but gave it a try and I am happy I did. This is a wonderful book. It takes up after Darcy & Elizabeth are married. It goes more into detail about society and Georgiana. I did not want to put the book down. ( )

If you like Pride and Prejudice, you will enjoy Ms. Pierson's And This Our Life which continues the lives of the Darcy and Bennet families.

It starts with Ms. Elizabeth Bennet and Mr. Fitzwilliam Darcy's marriage and has Ms. Bennet helping Miss Georgiana find her way in society.

Ms. Pierson's historical research is superb and she catches the essence of time and place. ( )

What's a girl to do when she's already read everything written by Austen? Read them again of course- which I've done many many times. Eventually I started searching out the Austen "sequels" that I knew existed. I use the term "sequel" loosely, as I do believe that nobody can really come close to capturing Austen's true genius, even as they use her characters. However, in no way am I an Austen purist, as I am quite accepting of the authors who have chosen to embark on "sequels" or other such books using Austen's characters.

C. Allyn Pierson's book was quite enjoyable. I had trouble putting it down, even to sleep, and ended up finishing it quickly. I really liked the emphasis put on Georgiana (Darcy's sister) and her introduction to society, as we see very little of her in "Pride and Prejudice" but she was doubtless very important to Darcy. Pierson nailed Darcy and Elizabeth, and overall this is a realistic look at look in the Darcy's life after "Pride and Prejudice."

My only disappointment is that this book is clearly titled "Book 1" but there is not yet a "Book 2" available to purchase, nor is a second book even mentioned on the author's website. ( )
