(3.33) | Keine | As a female cop, Delanie Cooper is on her most difficult assignment yet. To stop a baby-selling ring, she goes undercover as an unmarried, pregnant teen. Her new partner, Eli Logan, plays the father. With his rugged good looks, Delanie doesn't have to fake attraction, but Eli's rough exterior and bitterness toward women make it hard even to be friends. Eli is outraged at having another female partner. His last one nearly got him killed, and she wasn't the first woman to let him down. He's sure he'll never need another woman in his life or anyone else, not even God. His past has shown him he can only count on himself. Amidst danger and deceit can Eli forget the pain of yesterday to see something different in Delanie? And will he come to know God, the only One who will never let him down?… (mehr) |

Die Informationen stammen von der englischen "Wissenswertes"-Seite. Ändern, um den Eintrag der eigenen Sprache anzupassen. This book is dedicated to Camden, my first grandson. I have waited a very long time for you, and love you more than you can even imagine. I cannot wait to hold you close, pray over you, and share sweet stories about Jesus. This grandma couldn't be more thrilled. Many thanks to Marti, my cousin, for her medical expertise, to Adam, my son, for his legal expertise, and to Kelsy, my daughter, and Crit group 11 for their editorial guideance. And last but not least, the Reno police department for their valuable information about the inner workings of the department. If there is any glory to be had, may it go the my Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ. | |

What I liked:
-Delanie has regular meetings with friends (girls) and they all seem to try to hold each other accountable.
-Delanie does something to try to make her friend see that marrying an unbeliever is troublesome (and she does it out of love and care for her friend). Delanie also recognizes that if she wants to stay a friend to this woman, she needs to say her piece and then respect her friend's wishes.
-Delanie has boundaries and she isn't afraid to let Eli know what they are.
-Delanie is a capable police officer (as is Eli).
What I didn't like:
-Though Delanie has boundaries she's set for herself, she apparently doesn't have any trouble allowing a segment of the population to believe she's a pregnant teenager (not sure if she's supposed to be married or not). Granted, it is for a good reason (to catch those involved in a baby-selling ring) but still . . . it seems a bit odd for a Christian to agree to this.
-Undercover work is based on subterfuge and lying. Again, not something that most Christians would aspire to doing, even though most of the time, the undercover work serves to reveal things that couldn't be discovered easily in other ways. ( )
