Ethan is already in love with Mary Michael, one of five sisters (first book), and the sister has a twin. The second man, Jarrett, seems to be a man only interested in money and when he sees an opportunity to make some does so by doing Mary Renee’s father’s bidding by preventing her marriage to Hollis. From that point on things happen. There are fights, injuries, train wrecks, marriages, evil men, murder, work to be done and quite a bit of romance. Jarrett and Renee do not have an easy relationship and strike sparks most of the time – if one is not cantankerous the other probably will be. This has plenty of steam, interesting characters, time in the city and on the trail, a villain to uncover and a plot that twists and turns and a HEA ending. It's a great story and a good romance. I could see their pairing since the last book, and Rennie and Jarret make for a fiery but perfect pairing. I loved how she wanted to work in her father's business as an engineer and she proved her worth to him. The side characters are either fun or evil as needed.
I didn't like how the first part of the book was just a repetition of scenes from the first book. I guess it's necessary for readers who didn't read the first book in the series, but it went on in too much detail for me. Still, I like the Dennehy sisters and Ms. Goodman has put together a good story. (
