This fictional account of the Biblical story of Samson may give the viewer some sense of the biblical character with his shortcomings. The movie lacks the story of Samson's birth--an important element of the Biblical story. It depicts Delilah as accompanying Samson during events in the Biblical story where she is not mentioned and was likely not present. The scene of Samson killing the lion is particularly impressive as is the final act of Samson. For those who love the stories of the Bible, this film, though having its flaws, is nevertheless worth watching. ( )
