In the year 2009 heroine Ellie Winslow is searching for her missing sister Reese, who vanished about a year ago. Ellie goes to Deadwood, South Dakota, and through a series of events gets transported back through time, to the year 1876. Ellie finds herself on a steamer called the Natchez, in a man's cabin (hero Jake Gannon).

At first Ellie thinks it's just a dream, but she soon realizes she really is in 1876. Ellie tries to persuade a disbelieving Jake that she is from the future. Along the way they have to deal with some bad guys from Jake's past. Ellie is convinced her sister, Reece, may have been transported back in time too, but how can she find her? And what about Ellie's attraction to Jake...

There's so many things I enjoyed in this book. The settings... the wild west, the riverboat steamer. I liked that Jake was a riverboat gambler, I liked the time-travel theme. Ellie was a spunky heroine. Jake was an appealing, likable hero. I liked the touch of suspense this book also had.

A fun, sexy read!

This was an enjoyable follow-up to the connected story "Once An Outlaw" in the "Stolen From Time" Blaze series. ( )
