In this graphic novel, Nancy Drew is in Istanbul, Turkey with her Dad and one of his clients. The book begins with a mysterious statue that is said to be haunted. Carson Drew purchases the statue for his client that really wants it. The mystery begins as the statue seems to live up to its reputation and begins moving on its own in the house. The story then moves on to a plaque that has been stolen by an employee of Carson's client. He returns the stolen item only to have it turn up missing again-stolen. He was originally trying to protect it by keeping it himself but do to a language barrier he was unable to communicate that information to Alda the client. The story comes together in the basement where the employees son is found hiding in the 'haunted' statue trying to protect the plaque and clear his Dad's name by capturing the group of men that are stealing it now. The novel is a bit hard to follow, but is to be continued (not sure if all graphic novels are like that). Carson Drew is traveling to Istanbul, Turkey to settle a client’s estate. Nancy joins him and winds up on another case. When things start to disappear in the house, Nancy wonders if the client’s home is haunted! One night she hears strange noises and goes to investigate. She discovers the ruins of an ancient city and begins to wonder why Harland Severino really wants to purchase the estate. (This is book one of “The Secret Within”.)
