Amelia was a pilot, a record breaker, a nurse and a very independent woman. The first time she saw a plane, she basically thought it was a piece of junk. Eventually though, she learned to love planes and loved to fly. She even broke some records. I liked this book because she followed her dreams even though everyone said not to do it. I also like this book because I think Amelia is a good role model. I recommend this book to people that like non-fiction. ( ) The books starts with Amelia's early life and leads up to why and how she became a pilot and was determined to make it. The book talks about her record flight across the Atlantic Ocean as well as important events that happened throughout her short life. The book ends with her famous flight where she disappeared. Amelia Earhart’s bio furnished a great timeline of her journey through life. This book is age appropriate for 2nd to 3rd grade. We are fortunate to have pictures of our heroin. The illustrations are old black and white photographs that complete our image of this feminist. The font is standard black and bold. Amelia lived an interesting and an adventurous life for a woman in the 1920’s. Women in this period never rose above the level of mother and house wife. Amelia wanted more and got it. She became an image for all women to immolate for future generations. The rear of the book offers further readings on our heroin. This book could be used in the classroom to introduce historical referencing to air plane flights. Zeige 4 von 4 keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
