Fiction. Literature. Romance. HTML:Having earned her chef's hat, Lexi Stuart bids au revoir to her glamorous and deliciously satisfying pastry mentorship outside of Paris and returns to her hometown of Seattle, Washington. There, she finds life unexpectedly complicated.

She's put in charge of a high-end catering bakery called Bijoux, which should be her dream job, but there's a catch: She has to make this lavish bakery into a successful business in just a few, short months, which will require more than her ability to make an amazing wedding cake. In over her head and at a loss for creative marketing ideas, Lexi isn't sure what the recipe for success needs to be.

Stir in a complicated relationship with her French beau Philippe and his daughter, Celine, then add a dash of romance with down-to-earth lawyer Dan, and life suddenly contains more ooh la la than Lexi can handle.

With the fate of her career and her love life hanging by a thread, the phrase "piece of cake" has never been more daunting. Lexi learns that she must trust the dreams in her heart and the God who put them there.

Last book in trilogy. Lexi returns to US and finds herself Asst. Manager to Bijoux bakery. She has one year and a set budget in which to make the bakery profitable. She has a quite struggle but in the end she succeeds in her business and she becomes engaged to Dan. Fun, easy book to read

Lexi is still working to make her life work. This story is fun if you like French food, cakes, and want to find God's guidance in your life. Finally the HEA! ( )

This the third book in the series. I listened to others on audiobook, which was helpful in hearing the french words pronounced correctly. When I read this one I could still hear the reader's voice in my head. Overall it is a lighthearted book on love and pursuing your dreams. Lexi's dilemmas are relatable. There's one guy who has shown a little interest in her who rides a motorcycle, and another one pursuing her that is less mysterious and more predictable. Then she has to decide how much of France she really wants in her life. I mean, most women want to settle down, but you have to calculate how much do you want to give up to get the man of your dreams? Do you have to give up anything at all? How much are you romanticizing your career path? The dilemma here is resolved without too much "resistance" American-style. The only problem I had with the book is that Lexi and Dan never have any really deep conversations. He seems like a guy who likes her a lot for her quirkiness to offset his dull corporate lawyer lifestyle. Apart from that there isn't the sense that they are soul mates. Maybe I'm expecting too much in my escapist chick-lit. On the lighter side, I did make Salad Nicoise for dinner one night. This book will make you hungry, and there are recipes to expand your culinary repetoire. ( )

I'm happy to report that I finally finished the series. It's been a delicious read and I'm glad to have taken the opportunities to read all three books. I'll be looking out for more of Ms. Byrd's books.

The last book in the French Twist series was another delight to read. The author matured in her writing throughout the series, which was obvious from book-to-book. The story was nicely told, the Christian element was not overwhelming (as is often the case with Christian fiction), the characters elicited invested interest from me, and I am glad I read the entire series.

Recommended.
