It details his earlier life, his time at Cambridge, and his friendships and hostilities with many of the other big names of the times, including Russell, Wittgenstein, Kenyes, and various members of the Bloomsbury group. The book is well researched, with extracts from letters he and others have sent, which help provide different angles on the story being told. A large part of the book is concerned with the society he belonged to at Cambridge, which he was involved with for a considerable portion of his life, and how he influenced a great deal of thought during that period of time. I don't read a lot of biography, as I think a lot of them are written out of vanity, but I enjoyed this one, it is written about an interesting period of time, in which complicated things were being thought and said by clever people. This biography gives a brief picture of what were perhaps in relative terms a number of decades of minor importance, in one small corner of England, I don't know what other similar books I could compare it to, but I enjoyed it and have noted down some works discussed in it to read in the future.
