Not a bad story at all and one that I think kids who are into music will enjoy. There are 3 main characters in this story - Ash, Erin and Charlie. Ash is from a dysfunctional family in that his father is long gone, his mother is always in bed with migraines and communicates via post-it notes, and his older brother ( who taught him to play guitar) is always disappearing and then reappearing only to ask for money. Into Ash's life comes the hyper-active, super-enthusiastic Charlie who sees Ash in a music shop mooching over a guitar he can't afford to buy and convinces him to play it while Charlie jams next to him on a bass guitar. Charlie turns out to be new in the neighbourhood, goes to Ash's school and comes from a family that are the complete opposite of Ash's; the mother is a doctor, the father keeps house for Charlie and his three loving and eccentric brothers and sisters. Soon Charlie convinces Ash that they must start a band at school; and not just any old rock band - a Blues band. Into this scenario comes Erin - a talented pianist whose parents have high hopes for - they expect her to enter the Conservatorium for Music in the near future; something they have not consulted Erin about. The three friends; joined by an interesting collection of side characters including a prima donna singer and always joking drummer and saxophonist soon gel together to form Blue Noise and just when their talents are recognised, Charlie drops a devastating bombshell that leaves Ash feeling hurt and betrayed by his best friend. An interesting; true-to-life take on music, love and friendship. keine Rezensionen | Rezension hinzufügen
