I really liked this book. I used it in planning one of my lessons. This book is about a boy that accompanies his mom to the supermarket. This book does a good job of exposing children to different kinds of food and that recipes call for ingredients, like for his birthday cake! I would use this book in a lesson about health and teaching children about the grocery store. I used this in my lesson plan as the mentor text exposing children to the grocery store, I had children write down items on a “grocery list” that they would need for a meal. ( )

This book by Ann Rockwell shares the thrill a child may have when making a trip to the supermarket. Young children love to be involved when making trips to the store and even cooking and baking. This book helps demonstrate the fun and capability children can have when shopping for foods and preparing meals together as a family.
