First I've read of Evanovich's work. She tells a good tale. reads like the script from one of those 1 hour tv private eye type tales, a good light read. (

As always, Evanovich delivers a fast paced, light, easy read. I flew through this book. Unlike the previous installments, this one felt a little... fluffy. Perhaps it was because I couldn't quite get into the main case. I liked the evolving relationship between Stephanie and Morelli, and as always, I had a few laugh-out-loud moments. Overall, another good installment in this series. (A) (

Non riesco davvero a smettere di leggere questa serie. Stephanie è davvero un personaggio unico e memorabile: questa volta si trova alle prese con una fidanzata datasi alla macchia e che lascia messaggi cifrati la suo ex.

Dato che Steph non riesce a capire cosa vogliano dire – strano! – si affida a un maestro di enigmistica, tale Sally Sweet, un altro degli esilaranti personaggi di Janet Evanovich. Un transessuale piuttosto stravagante (e verso il quale Nonna Mazur mostrerà un certo interesse...).

Lula continuerà a imperversare con pistole di vario calibro e con quella elettrica, che userà a tradimento contro chiunque le capiti a tiro e la minacci – o semplicemente le stia antipatico.

Una che sicuramente ne farà le spese sarà Joyce Barnhardt, arcinemica di Stephanie, che la trovò con suo marito – e non a preparare biscotti. Naturalmente Lula farà finta di nulla... che fastidio quegli attacchi di vertigini... ma d'altra parte quel viscido di Vinnie l'assunta come cacciatrice di taglie e le ha dato lo stesso caso di Steph...

E poi c'è lui, Joe Morelli, che finalmente... fa un investimento serio. Il massimo della qualità. Un cartone di preservativi. Alleluja! Per un momento ho pensato che anche in questo libro sarebbe andato in bianco... (

Ahhahaha, Stephanie Plum is amazing. Amazingly bad at being a bounty hunter. But yeah, that's what this series is all about. (
