Illustrations: Adobe Illustrator. The Big Bad Wolf is at the library and he is asked to tell the story of the Three Little Pigs. He goes on to tell his version of the story and the audience in the library is very skeptical of what he is saying. The Big Bad Wolf finally admits that he was lying about the story and tells the truth. In the end, he builds a new house for the Three Little Pigs with the help of a few viliains from other stories. This story is fantasy because animals are talking and doing actions that normal animals cannot do, but there is a theme throughout the story that many children can relate to: lying. Children can learn through this book that lying is not okay and it hurts people's feelings. Genre: Fantasy, Age Appropriateness: Primary. ( )

Tell the Truth, B.B. Wolf is yet another twist to the classic tale of the "Three Little Pigs". This time B.B. Wolf is trying to prove his innocence on the destruction of the pig's houses. B.B. Wolf says that he blew down the first pig's house by accident because he was blowing a dandelion that he picked near it. He also proclaims that he also blew down the second pig's house down because he saw some fire touch his house. However the pigs don't believe his lies and demand that he speaks the truth. In the end, B.B. changes his last name from "bad" to "bodacious" and gathers his villain friends to build the pigs a brand new mansion for them to live in. I found this book notable because of how expressive the dialogue is. At times the text was enlarged, changed to a different font, and was colored to indicate either B.B. Wolf singing or when the pigs demanded that B.B. Wolf tell the truth. There were hints of alliteration towards the end, as well as predicable syntactical structure with the dialogue. Children can easily follow along and predict certain events during guided or interactive reading. A good follow up activity can include children looking at another popular fairy tale and then writing an apologetic letter from that particular villain's perspective. ( )

The book was about how the Big Bad wolf from the story of the "three little pigs", was giving the opportunity to go and tell the community the story of how he met the three little pigs. He tried to tell the story in a way to where he didn't look like the bad guy but the pigs knew the truth. After he attempted to tell the story the way he wish things went have went, he decided to build the pigs a mansion to show them that he had truly changed his ways and he was sorry for blowing their houses down the first time around. I would read this book to my students when teaching about personification, fiction, or fairy tales. I love how this book took a well known fairy tale and gave it a positive alternative ending. I would suggest this book for students in 3rd grade and under. ( )

I enjoy fractured fairy tales and this was new to me. I was eager to read about the Big Bad Wolf in a library setting - what a perfect presentation! The inclusion of the other fairy tale creatures encouraging the Wolf to admit the error of his ways was a fun twist.
Curricular connections with language arts for 5th and 6th grade students - have students read this story and then create their own fractured fairy tale. Alternatively, they can retell the story from the point of view of a different fairy tale character.

B.B. Wolf is asked to share a story at the library. He has his own take on the famous story of the three little pigs though. The three little pigs catch him in his lie. He learns that lying is not the right thing to do.

This book was great. It incorporated song in the text. It would be a great book to read after reading the classic folktale of the Three Little Pigs. ( )
