This was a fantastic book. I loved the connection between DaKar and Aurora, even though they both tried really hard to fight it at various times in the story.

DaKar really has a lot of hurt that he has to deal with, and I think that it was so hard for him to fight that hurt to see things clearly. Once he started to process that, he was able to start to see things better. He really needed to process some of that, and I don't think he wouldn't've if he hadn't met Aurora.

I think that Aurora was really brave. She kept getting put into a difficult place, and she did what she could to fight through it. I think that she will be the perfect mate to a Warlord.… (mehr)

Book two in this prison planet series and I seriously enjoyed this.
We take up with Ava after she disappeared along with the soldier that was protecting her.
Well, she finds her self in hell beneath ground and trapped and at the mercy of Hunter Valdus’s.
Valdus former resistance fighter sentenced by the council and when he sees Ava amongst the fresh meat sent down to the core he recognises her value and decides to use her as bait to escape this hellhole.
So this was super smokin hot and a kind of enemies to lovers story.
I say kind of as this is actually rather instalove in nature and they are only at loggerheads for a short while.
But you know what sometimes a bit of immediate affection hits that spot and this for me did that rather nicely.
This was action filled and I am really looking forward to experiencing Ryker's story next as he just intrigues me with his bolchy sniping attitude.
I was slightly disappointed that the main characters from the first book didn't make an appearance here, but all else here was good and I am happy to recommend this.
Just a heads-up though Ava here is protected by Valdus and his men because of this books setting there are dark elements to this namely the rape of fellow inmates.
I voluntary reviewed a copy of Taken (The Condemned Series, #2).

This is the first book in the Condemned series and I had such a fab time reading this.
Sci-Fi romance books are a guilty pleasure of mine add in it being a prison planet and I was sold and this one was certainly a great read.
So Bella West crash lands on this penal colony planet along with her fellow researchers and some soldiers sent along to protect them.
Making a deal with prisoner 673 her body for protection is the only logical way forward if she wants to survive in this harsh terrain.
I appreciated Bella's determination and resilience to make it whatever the cost and found her to be a pragmatic sort which is a quality of hers I really found myself admiring.
Prisoner 673 AKA Convicts humanity is still there despite him burying it so deep and I really enjoyed witnessing the blossoming bond developing between these two.
This was actioned packed throughout and had no trouble retaining my individual attention.
On a sidenote, I really appreciated that window where we get to jump forward slightly and see where are unlikely lovers ended up.
This in itself had quite a feel-good vibe for me and though I had to suspend my disbelief slightly as I don't think it would be that easy to receive a pardon and come out on top I found myself not really caring that much as I just wanted our twosome to come out on top and win.
This was also set up very nicely for the next story in this series of which I am looking forward to reading.
