Misha and Sakuri are married, struggling with a common issue - the husband wants more sex than the wife. The book begins a bit slow, to get to the fact that Sakuri gives Misha a free pass for a month to get "it" out of his system, which sets the premise for the story. Misha flies off, finds himself drawn to an exotic dancer and they embark on an affair. We soon discover that Misha is being held prisoner, forced to tell his story to a mysterious woman. His story, told under duress, is steamy and delves into the relationships he has with the dancer and his wife. I found the beginning of this book reminiscent of a penthouse forum fantasy - man flies to another continent, walks into gentleman's club, sees a gorgeous young woman and she falls in love with him, treats him differently than the other customers. The book was compelling and suspenseful enough to keep me reading, largely because of the woman holding him prisoner, but the characters fell a little flat for me. Misha didn't fight for his family, but instead went off to sew his wild oats and then got caught up in a steamy romp that led to dark places. The sex scenes were well written, the suspense increased, but the emotional connection (for me) was missing. (NOTE: I was given a copy of this book in return for an honest review.)… (mehr)

I am not sure what to think of this book. I had thought I would not like it because it is meant for mature adults but I was pleasantly surprised to find I did enjoy most of the book. I found the psychology and development of various relationships and characters very intriguing and interesting. I felt I could understand Misha to a degree but I have to admit that I still don't get Sayuri all that much. In particular; I was drawn into the evolving relationship between Misha and Tayanna that began with passion (which is a mild way of putting it. I thought my tablet would burst into flames at times) and turned into a sweet love story. Don't be mislead. This is also a suspense novel and I liked the way the author wove between past recollections and present horror. I said I enjoyed most of the book and I think the reason is I felt like there were a few loose threads. I wanted to know what happened to Tayanna, and also Misha and Sayuri's marriage. Was she really a student? Did she use the loan of money the way it was intended? Was she able to get away from her uncle? Did she ever find happiness? Did Misha ever think of her again after he went back to his wife? This novel will not appeal to everyone. It does contain very descriptive sexual scenes that some may find offensive. For myself, it seems to fit the intention of conveying the intense attraction between Misha and Tayanna ( think Fatal Attraction without the psychotic behavior). I am received this book on LibraryThing in exchange for an honest review. .… (mehr)

Meet Misha and Sayuri a married couple with all the bells and whistles. A glorious home, money, and two beautiful daughters, and still something is missing. Sayuri feels that she can not longer satisfy Misha in the sex department. It’s really very simple. He wants, and she could care less if they ever have sex. She loves him dearly, but a solution must be found.

That being said, I am now torn in my review.

I love the idea of Sayuri’s suggestion to Misha. I also understand Misha wanting more than just sex. I found his trip to Mexico an enjoyable, and satisfying adventure. Alaska makes him happy, and I think he deserves the freedom to seek out his happiness.

On the home front I found Rita to be an very interesting character until her true identity is revealed. I really do not like her. Intentional or not, she’s a terrible person. I must include Sayuri in that opinion also. A little unbelievable what transpires between Rita, Misha, and Sayuri. I know there are crazies out there, but this on is way out there.

I was so disappointed at the conclusion. I just had such a different idea on how I would have liked the ending to be. I was left pacing, angry, and frustrated. To some people I am sure that it was a perfect response, but I am still thinking that Misha has lost his mind through all this. I would have thrown them to the wolves, taken the girls, and followed my heart.

A great story… even if I was unhappy once I finished reading it. I realize that it created a strong response, which normally would be fantastic. I just can’t get past the ending. I find it a bit unbelievable that Misha…ughhh never mind. You will just have to experience and decide for yourself. It is worth the read. 3/5
