Despite coming out in 2007, Beckham’s book is still surprisingly relevant and readable. Most of these style books are fluff pieces but That Extra Half Inch actually contains some useful information. It is UK-centric but I ordered a few products she recommends. It’s a fun and breezy read.½

This book is better than what I expected. Victoria Beckham shares her fashion ideas and no-nos in this colorful book. I love that she leaves space for the reader to write their own fashion likes.

3.5 stars.
I am not a big fan at all of Victoria Beckham but we, my daughter and I, we loved the Spice Girls when she was little so that part was interesting to read. I had forgotten what had happened, how and why they quit and she does tell a bit about that. What annoyed me most though was that she appears to never be happy. During The Spice Girls period she missed her family, while with David there were other problems. it is true though that she was always thought of as the Spice Girl that could not sing but that was mainly because all the other girls did solos (not only on there first hit,Victoria) so I still do not get why she never did the solo's. What i liked about this book were the many photo's. Normally she always pouts on pictures but on these she really looks gorgeous cause she is acting natural. I do like her a a bit more now that I've read this book. (I also have My Way by David Beckham but I cannot read this yet. aargh) ;)

This reads like an advertisement for Victoria Beckham (the fashion spreads are mostly of her) and her favorite UK stores. Not entirely helpful to a U.S. girl with an entirely different body-type. However, the language is breezy and conversational (as she says, "I'm a girls' girl") and the spirit of the book is uplifting in all senses. (AG, 12/23/09)

While Beckham (or at least her ghost writer) writes with a nice touch, this book is only going to be of interest to two groups - hard-core fashionistas or clueless wannabe fashionistas. There is nothing new in this book, other than Beckham's less-than-subtle attempts to draw attention to her own fashion/perfume/jewellery lines.

That said, this is not a bad book - it is humourous where so many other 'style guides' are too serious for their own good. And the illustrations, especially the drawn ones, are gorgeous.

I admire the Beckhams so it was no surprise I bought the book. If not mistaken, it was the first biography book I read LOL. The story is wonderful (with humor injected in), the pictures are great, the family gorgeous..and I definitely learnt more about their life from the beginning =)

Surprisingly fun, well put together (no surprise there). My favourite guilty pleasure book of the moment.
