Mele Kalikimaka is a heartwarming tale perfect for the holidays. This novella gives more insight into the struggles of the girls and relationships with family members. I really liked how Olive grew so much throughout this one-hundred-page story.
If you are a fan of Taylor's previous books or if you have never read them, give this story a chance this Christmas. You won't be disappointed.

Wow, this was just so... Wow!

I commonly pass over young adult books since they oftentimes lack faith, this book? Yeah, the elements of faith were so strongly potent that they just seep from the story.

I really love Olive, JAZZ, and Brander and how they became friends even though they didn't start off as friends. I would say that I wish I had read it before, but, I think I read it just when I needed to.

I highly recommend that you try out this book, it is well worth the time. Not to mention, who can turn away from a cover like that?!

Now to binge read the rest of the series on Kindle Unlimited!

I voluntarily received and reviewed a complimentary e/copy of this book which I received from the author/publisher/review company. All views expressed are only my honest opinion.

Okay, I would love to skip a review of this one, but it is so good and deserves at least something from me. I'd skip reviewing since it was just so good...

I really loved getting to know more about Olive, Jazz, and Brander, and seeing them grow more from where they left off in book one was sweet.

At times there were things that kicked me in the stomach, just wow, the faith shown in this book was so well written and it was a really good reminder for me.

If you like young adult fiction or even if you DON'T like young adult fiction I suggest you try these out. Oooh, and, I just love how Bennett doesn't have a romance going on YET. It is just a sweet relationship that has the ability to become more.… (mehr)

I am so impressed by this book!!

Porch Swing Girl is told from the point of view of sixteen-year old Olive Galloway. Olive’s voice is so strong! Olive is angry. Snarky. Sarcastic. Stubborn. Sad. Olive is realistic and relatable. She’s determined, sometimes to a fault. Olive is also generous, kind and caring. She’s a really awesome character!

Olive is a Christian, but her faith is wavering after the death of her mother. She finds herself surrounded by many devout believers who remind her to turn to God even when she doesn’t want to, even when things look bleak. The faith sharing is strong. I liked it!

There’s a whisper of romance woven through the pages. It’s sweet and innocent, based on friendship, and most importantly, God’s will, first.

I couldn’t put this book down! Porch Swing Girl is a refreshing and totally engaging read! Taylor Bennett has a ton of natural talent! I’m excited to see where her career goes!

Porch Swing Girl and its sequel, Sand Castle Dreams, are both available now! Visit www.christianbook.com for details. The third book in this series releases in April 2020.

I borrowed a copy of this book from my local public library. A review was not requested or required. All opinions expressed are completely my own.
