This story captured my heart quickly and took me on a ride full of emotions. I had to read it straight through due to the intensity, romance, mystery, fear and such invovled. This book will have you filled with anger, give you hope, set you ablaze with horror and leave you breathless at the end.
It deals with many real life issues: a nasty divorce for the firefighter, losing a spouse for a school teacher, moving on from such difficult events and trusting in the possibility of love. Add in the fact that the father is fighting to gain custody of his daughter to protect her from someone he once thought he could trust and the teachers own marital problems before her husbands' death, you are left wondering if things will ever go right for the two of them. Especially since the main male character has such a dangerous job as a Lieutenant in the fire department and is gone for 24 shifts at a time.
The drama unfolds quickly and just gets more intense as you go along. I found myself living through the characters and feeling what they must have felt. I just wish there were more books like this around! This is not you average romantic suspense in the least.… (mehr)
