This Hanukkah story was about the magical, angel-like creatures, Bubbie and Zadie. They visit your home on the first evening of Hanukkah, much like Santa Claus. Though they don't bring presents, they do interact with the children in the story, telling stories of Hanukkah and playing traditional games. They take the appearance of your own "Bubbie and Zadie" (grandma and grandpa). I thought this story was a little long-winded for child readers (and even listeners), but I did learn more about Hanukkah than I have ever known, for example, what it IS.

This book would be good for introducing other holidays in the winter besides Christmas. It would be great to have on the shelf, available to students.… (mehr)
