Ernie: The Autobiography is an interesting and entertaining book to read. Ernest Borgnine is an excellent story teller. He brings his stories alive with vivid and fun detail. His stories are positive and uplifting. This was one of the most delightful autobiographies I have read in a long time. I thoroughly enjoyed this book, couldn't put it down, and highly recommend it.

You get to see the man behind the screen with these snippets of his life. You are with him when he, as a young man, is in the Navy. You are on set with him as you journey through his film and TV career. You are there with his several heartbreaking marriages, and then, when he finally finds true love.

He does not dwell on the negatives in his life but rather the positives. This man has class.

While he does talk about his life, it's mostly stories about his films and the rolls he played. While I enjoyed the book, I was looking for more about the man.

Borgnine has a great way of telling a story and it shows through in this autobiography. Recommended for any film fan and especially for Borgnine fans.

Like sitting at the feet of an old Italian Grandad... some of the stories are interesting, some of the tangents are pointless, some of the facts are embellished... but you walk away feeling wiser, smarter and even a little loved.
Now I'm gonna go watch the Wild Bunch.
