I enjoyed this first book mystery. Penny Mackenzie writes for a small town paper, mostly doing the feature works. When her friend and fellow reporter is killed, right after finding the bones of an old skeleton, Penny tries her hand at investigative reporting. With a lot of history of small town California as well as some Yukon gold rush stories this is a wild ride. I'm looking forward to the next in the series.
