Just loved this book. Filled with roadside giants just as the title implies. Those larger than life things on the side of the road that are trying to entice you to stop. Features the "muffler man," oversized donuts, uncle sam, ,dinosaurs and of course Santa Claus from Santa Claus, IN. Each of the different chapters is devoted toa specific subsection with pictures of the ones mentioned and then if you like this see these also which are similar attractions maybe in a different part of the country. The book starts off that they were going to make it for children then realized that it was the adults who bring our children or grandchildren to see these things that keeps them alive. Fun look at a rapidly disappearing section of Americana.

I had fun going through this book! I'd heard of and even seen some larger than life roadside landmarks like the Mieneke Man, but this book takes things even further, with a wide variety of "roadside giants." I enjoyed not only the pictures, but the history and numbers behind the featured landmarks. I also enjoyed the "If you like _____, you'll also like.." sections, which listed similar "roadside giants" around the country. It's hard to pick a favorite, but the huge Longaberger's Baskets looked pretty neat in the pictures
