Jade Cary

Grace Aston Coolidge is the daughter of a Duke. But more than that, she's also a widowed First Lady. Her husband, Matt Coolidge, was assassinated while he was out on the campaign trail for his 2nd term. One of his Secret Service agents, John Marin, grabbed her and stuck her in a limo and got her away from the scene.

Now, a year later, she's living in England, but has to go back to the US for a memorial, and her hand is being forced when it comes to security. She's turned down the Secret Service (and wouldn't you?), so she's off to find her own security. She wants John Marin, who is currently living in the Caribean on a boat and drinking rum. When she goes down to get him, it takes some convincing, but finally he agrees to be her personal security. The problem is, she's keeping secrets from him.

Overall, I enjoyed the book. It approached a little too conspiracy theory for me in a couple of places, but it walked that fine line. I loved the dance in between John and Grace as they were trying to figure out what was going to happen between them.… (mehr)
