I love it when an adventure begins on the first page and continues to draw you into the story for the entire book. In Huntress Found, A.A. Chamberlynn does exactly that. Evryn reminded me a little of Emma from the Once Upon a Time TV show, skilled at finding people or things, and not quick to trust anyone. It’s a cool premise, a woman is skilled at finding kidnapped children, and yet she’s gifted for even greater things than this, tasks that require her skills beyond earth – and that’s just the beginning of the adventure. I didn’t like the romance; it felt unnecessary to the story and even seemed to get in the way, but the story itself, along with the tie-in to Greek mythology, was fabulous. I would definitely be interested in seeing where the story goes from here.

I was given a free copy of this ebook by the author and have voluntarily reviewed it.

A great read that will bring you on an exciting adventure!

I have not read any books written by this author previously, but after reading this book, I know that I will definitely be reading other books written by A.A. Chamberlynn - who has probably now become one of my favourite authors.
This book is fast paced and well-written with well-developed characters and plot. I was intrigued by the story and just could not stop reading it - packed full with adventure, mystery, magic, fantasy and more - this book is bought to life with descriptive writing that unleashes the reader's imagination. I really enjoyed reading this book :)
I am definitely looking forward to the continuation of this book/series!

It picks up straight from part one. Still saving the world and her friends first of course. I really enjoy these books, the speed is where you can't put them down and when its over your running to grab the next copy to see what happens.

I wanted to see if something happened between Eli and Zyan, forbidden fruit so to say, but then you remember Donovan from the very first one. Hes still trying to get her back, and he is not giving up. Then to see how it went with Riley and Dan, it blew up then it didn't. That one made me mad then made me laugh. But I am still waiting on Quinn to find her someone. The best friends of Zyan are hilarious and as kick ass as she is. All the characters in the story go well together making it a very enjoyable read.

Theyv'e saved the world from Lucifer, theyv'e had him sucked back to Hell. Their thanks? Some government wanting to lock every supe up, but what else can they expect? Now their off to Ireland. Can't wait to see what they get into there.

I received an ARC. And my honest review is these books are addicting

Zyan is a soul-sucker damned to hell for all eternity, because of an ex who decided to break her heart for fun. Then a woman who decided to turn her into said soul sucker. So when the angel Eli comes a knocking why would she ever want to say yes? I mean they are the ones who helped make the rules that no matter what she does, shes damned. Who cares that the head of their HR is under a major threat? And that she might be the only hope. Since when do angels ask the damned for help anyways? Must be a joke right?

Not a joke and Eli, angel sent from HR to ask for her help, doe not take lightly to her "colorful" language or sarcastic attitude. Who else could piss off an angel, other than Zyan? Until she comes to his rescue, which he doesn't need. Flash forward she's helping.

What does it take to bring down a 2 thousand year old vampire? Angels, a soul sucker, shape shifters, a witch, and werewolves are about to find out. Add in it's Zyan's ex and her magical abilities that she has avoided are out of wack and presenting themselves at in opportune times and you might have a city about to blow up. Oh, and don't forget the demons breaking lose all over town whenever they feel like it.
I'm off to part two. Have to see how this plays out.

I was very excited when I was offered an ARC copy. I couldn't wait to see how it played out after Black magic & Mojitos

This was a novella meant to serve as an introduction to the characters of a new series starting later this year, and it did a decent job of painting in the broad strokes, giving an idea of what's on offer.

The problem is, I truly disliked most of what was painted in.

It opens in Rio, with mockery of the statue of Jesus.

Really?

Really?

That intro to Zyan Star is … apparently pretty representative. She's yet another new addition to the Badass Foul-Mouthed Hard-Drinking Got No Time for Emotion Club; I wonder if they have artistically torn t-shirts. I found it interesting that by the end of the novella three of the four protagonists' "supe" characteristics were mapped out (magic user, werewolf, were-something-else) – but not Zyan's. She's immortal; she's strong and fast and all superpower-y; she eats people and she feels kind of guilty about it now and then; maybe … vampire? I suppose that's left for the book to explore. Don't know. Don't care.

It's a shame. Some of the writing is good – the metaphor used about the bad guy's eyes was nicely done. And as I said, characterization was good for so short a piece

I always find it incredibly sad when a writer gushes in a note about how utterly marvelous her editor was … and for the text that was supposedly so lovingly edited to be riddled with errors. ("Remind my manners") ("Someone who can be discrete" – for the record, that means "individually separate and distinct", which, who knows, maybe that's what they were looking for) (Oh, and *sigh* "a flare for drama". Really?)

This was a LibraryThing Member Giveaway.

I received a free copy of this novelette for review. It features a magical warrior for hire who doesn't use her magic and her two colleagues. She is in Rio de Janeiro for a job, and finds that things aren't what she expected. Apparently she isn't concerned about being paid, as she decides to take a different approach to her situation. In general, the plot and action were fine and I didn't have strong enough questions to take me out of the story, except for one thing. She's in Brazil. Mojitos are not Brazilian, they are Cuban. If she wanted the local drink, it should have been a caipirinha.

I liked the voice of the heroine, and was intrigued by her mention of her past and her powers. I also liked her relationship with her two friends--witch and werewolf. The romantic interest is properly cocky, though we don't get to see much of his ability to prove himself. But then, this is a novelette, and it's something of a teaser to get readers interested in the series. And I definitely am.

A short read but a pretty good one. It only took me about 20 to 30 minutes to read it.
Pros: There was action and an assortment of characters.
Cons: The character of Zayn Star was a little vague. Her background and what she is was hinted at but not explained.

This would be a good companion story for a series but I don't think the series exists yet. At the end of the story, it says to look for the full length book in Oct 2015. It is Jan 2016 and I don't see any story.
Basically, Zayn and her friends go to Rio and battle Nightmares and demons.

Over all, not a bad read and I liked it enough that I would probably check out the series. The author should hurry up and get it out there.

When reading this I was completely drawn in. The story line was very good and the language everything was easily understood. I liked the banter between the characters. Their personalities draw you in. You can see yourself right there watching it all unfold. Cant wait to see what Happens with Zyan and Donovan, their little dance had me laughing a few times. Definitely a book to pick up and then wait on the next release.

I wrote this book, so of course I'll give it five stars :) This is the first of my Zyan Star books. It's a fun, kickass urban fantasy series that I love to write. If you like magic, humor, chicks with katanas, and a couple generous dashes of romance, this is probably right up your alley.
