Visually, this book offers great examples of basic cuts that anyone interested in film editing should know. The choices of examples are great, and I think that they clearly illustrate the cuts that Gael Chandler explains.
However, this book is not for those who wonder how these cuts are actually made. It is more focused towards theory and, if you are looking to get your hands on editing software and achieve the kind of cuts explained in the book, you better look somewhere else.
