This book is adorable. My daughter loved hearing of Kip and Kamuela's adventures. It is perfect for any child that is ready to sit through longer reads or reading well on their own. I love the look of the old school style illustrations.

Very helpful book when I was out stargazing with my telescope in my late teens. Easy to use, easy to understand. Turn the wheel and find the star.

(fonte: dvdweb.it)

Shark Week, by Martha Brockenbrough, is a nonfiction book with everything you need to know about sharks.(hence the title) Since sharks are often mistakenly classified as man-eating monsters, there is a portion to why sharks aren't as dangerous as they seem. As well as sharks' habitats, the author also writes what different types sharks eat. For instance, whale sharks eat plankton, while others eat fish and other marine mammals. There is also a section to shark senses. If you haven't already heard, sharks have an sixth sense along with our five main senses. The sharks' extra sense allows them to feel electricity and movement in the water. This is helpful when hunting because injured prey might be thrashing in the water, and this sixth sense allows the shark to locate where the prey is. Overall, I think the author did an amazing job writing this book.
I rated this book a five because it is full of fun facts and interesting information about sharks. This book also includes a ton of pictures to get a feel of how spectacular sharks are.

A couple special effects guys and various cohorts test whether various urban legends are possible.

Some of the better episodes. They don't all feature major explosions as the title implies, but there are quite a few good ones. Includes the exploding cement truck episode (which was also edited into a special which is on an earlier "Collection"), and the water heater rocket episode, both of which are pretty crazy.½

A couple special effects guys and cohorts test whether various urban legends are possible.

It's frustrating how off-track they get at testing myths this season. It's often more about messing around on the theme of a myth. Still, it's fun to watch them messing around.

Who was Jesus? What was his childhood like? What was his message and mission? "Who was Jesus" is the story of what it was like to be Jesus: to be born into tyranny and executed for preaching harmony, love and forgiveness to one's own warring people. It's also the story ;of his disciples who risked death by carrying Jesus' message of salvation. Three expert guides - a historian, archaeologist and theologian - examine the evidence and paint a contextual picture of the times in which Jesus lived.

This book presents very interesting facts on animals of all species and locations that leave the reader fascinated. It gives details about many different animals capabilities and statistics on animal characteristics often providing references to human qualities to compare. The information contained in this book is very interesting to all readers, animal-lovers or not. It's a great book for students to get ideas for projects or research. It's definitely a book I would like to have in my classroom library.
