There are plenty of books on general-purpose performance tuning, and a number of books on sendmail in general, but this is the only book that combines the two.

Fortunately, this is an excellent book in its own right, written by one of the foremost architects of building scalable Internet e-mail systems, and someone who has been very free in providing to us the benefit of his experience in various papers he's written, and collaborating with others on related invited talks.

Disclaimer: the author of this review was a technical reviewer of this book prior to publication, and Nick has been my co-author on several invited talks that I've given at various conferences. But the reason I've been able to rope him into so many projects is that he's a great guy who also really knows his stuff.… (mehr)
