To keep those investigative skills honed, the book contains tests throughout to check what the gumshoe-in-training has learnt, including observation questions and code-cracking quizzes. It is humorously illustrated by Colin King.

This is a straightforward little book about going to the doctor. Each child has a different problem: one has a hurt arm, another a stuffy nose, and the third needs his vaccines. This goes through all the steps, including the polio vaccine and stopping by the pharmacy. Short on plot, but I can see it being reassuring to children afraid of going to the doctor.

In Moving House, they introduce young children to unfamiliar situations in an amusing and friendly way. They explain the time consuming struggle of packing and unpacking. This is really good for children who are scared to move away and don't want to leave all things familiar to them.

The story of the new baby is a great book for young children to read under the age of five. This story is about a family that is expecting a new baby within the next couple of days. The family gathered together to help get things set up and ready for the new born baby. After a few days of getting ready for the baby the mother of the family was starting to feel the baby come. They rushed her to the hospital while her parents watched the two anxious siblings that were awaiting their arrival at home. The mother of the family had a beautiful baby girl and couldn't wait to get home. Once she arrived home the whole family was ecstatic and couldn't take their hands off of their new baby sister.

This book is a great book for mother's to read to their children who are about to be brothers or sisters to get them excited about the new baby. This book would also be a great book to have in a hospital in the kid section to help pass by time if their mother is in the hospital while having their brother or sister.

The book Going to the Hospital by Anne Civardi is about a young boy that has an earache and can't stand the pain anymore. The young boy tells his mom about his earache and she immediately goes to the hospital to get it looked at. Once the doctors took a good look at his ear, they had all decided that it would be a great idea to send him into surgery. The young boy had a scarce face when he found out that he was going into surgery shortly. His family and friends made him feel a lot better about going into surgery by telling him only good things would come out of getting surgery. His ear would feel all better by the time they were done and he would feel good as new. The young boy built up enough courage to go into surgery and like his family and friends said he felt good as new when he came out.

This book is a great book for young children to read before going to the hospital. While reading this book it can show young children that it's okay to go to the hospital and that it's a safe and inviting place to be.

I would recommend this book to any child under the age of six. This book isn't very complicated and the older children might loose interest in the book half way through. It's a great book when teaching young children about places that they might be afraid of such as the hospital.

This is a great book for getting children comfortable with what might happen at the dentist! It even shows the things that might seem scary to children, such as drilling into a tooth. It explains the importance of brushing your teeth and flossing as well!

Great book to introduce young children about going to the hospital. It teaches about the procedures, machines, and people in a developmentally appropriate way. This would be a great book to read with children who are going to experience an upcoming hospital trip. The pictures and explanations provide reassurance to any nervous child.
