I read this book via an Amazon KU [KINDLE Unlimited] download.

Besides being a Christian book reviewer, blogger, and author, I also happen to be a Christian poet. Publishing my first two Christian books on January 11, 2020, after being inspired by my reviewing scores of numerous non-fiction Christian books going back to 2018, I got inspired to become a Christian blogger.

Just like Ms. Crawley writing the poetry in her book, she opens up to share the deepest reaches of her life fraught with diversity, from tugging at her readers' emotions to having a sense of being thought-provoking to being foreboding. Besides my passion for sharing the Lord's words, I developed a desire to write poetry about what it means for me to be a Christian woman.

BEING A CHRISTIAN WOMAN

I am a Christian woman,
For looking at is what you see.
I am a Christian woman,
For this is what the Lord made me to be.

I am a Christian woman,
As I share the Lord's word each day.
I am a Christian woman,
What more is there to say.

I am a Christian woman,
For in me, the Lord's planted a seed.
I am a Christian woman,
For giving birth is a good Christian woman's need.

I am a Christian woman,
Praying for those who are sick or injured.
I am a Christian woman,
Doing this, I know that by the Lord, they'd be cured.

I am a Christian woman,
Loving my family and all others.
I am a Christian woman,
Loving others, as they'd be my sisters and brothers.

I am a Christian woman,
Thanking the Lord for each day he allows me to wake.
I am a Christian woman,
I long for peace all over, for the world's sake.

One Shoe is the debut publication by S.R Crawley. I discovered this work through the author’s post on Facebook requesting a beta reader for her draft. The book consists of three short stories with an interesting connectiona preteen girl riding in a car wondering why she always sees only one shoe lying along the highway.
The author does a nice job of developing the main characters so that you empathize with them. Each story is a clever explanation behind why the preteen girl would spy just one shoe lying along the roadway.
Michelle Wineheart is about Bernard, the cable guy who lusts after Michelle, one of his customers. She loses her shoe when Bernard decides to act on his urges.
Eugene Young is the fifteen-year-old title character. He and his mother, Estelle, have a sweet, loving relationship. In spite of the family’s financial hardships, Estelle buys him an expensive pair of running shoes for his birthday. He loses a shoe in a fight with some bullies in the street.
Billy McCall is the story of an expert repair man. He is the mill’s “go-to guy” whenever there is a mechanical problem. He loses his boot on his way to a late-night repair job.
The author explained to me that she was the preteen girl in the story. She has quite an imagination. I look forward to reading more of her stories. … (mehr)
