I really hate to give poor reviews, but I can't help it with this book. It is a shame, because the premise in which this book was written had potential to be fantastic. The writing was basic and the story never came to a conclusion. The story focused so much on the banter between the couples that it distarcted from what I considered the theme of the book. I thought I was reading a book about citizens taking out marks, but I ended up reading shallow conversations between two couples. I was very disappointed that the author did not develop the story more around the abduction of the girl in the shipping container or the girl that was abducted from Las Vegas. That is all I know about these events, the story just said it happened and the it ended. I assume this book is meant to be a series and was setting up future books, but I am not motivated to read them as this book seemed to lack the story development to keep me reading. I found I could only read 3-4 pages at a time and then lost interest. What a shame as this plot had such potential.… (mehr)

ALTHOUGH THE CONCEPT OF THE BOOK IS A GOOD ONE, BUT I WAS FRUSTRATED WITH THE NIEVETY OF THE CHARACTERS. I FELT THE MAIN CHARACTERS" CONVERSATIONS WERE A LITTLE TOO TRITE FOR SUCH A BOLD TOPIC. WOULD THE AVERAGE "JOE" SIMPLY ACCEPT THE PERKS OF A GREAT JOB, NEW HOME, FREE DAYCARE, ETC.WITHOUT CONSIDERING THAT THIS ALL MIGHT BE TOO GOOD TO BE TRUE??? I WAS CONSTANTLY THINKING THAT AS I READ THE BOOK. I ALSO THOUGHT THAT THERE WERE TOO MANY ISSUES GOING ON FOR THE SHORTNESS OF THE BOOK: AN EARTHQUAKE, THE CEO DYING, ON TOP OF THE GENERAL PREMISE OF THE BOOK.… (mehr)
