Synopsis
Jessaline Nolan will do anything to escape the marriage her father has arranged for her even if it means marrying one of the Demons of Dunmore - three brothers renowned for their debauchery and wicked ways. In accordance with his family tradition, Lord Llewellyn Dunmore is unwed and happy to remain so until he overhears Jess's claim and decides to rescue the damsel in distress. Will Llew and Jess's growing love survive the secrets, lies and machinations of her malicious father.

Quite an entertaining read.

Despite the title, there isn't a demon in sight and this turns out to be an atypical historical romance with some very minor paranormal undertones in the form of three fae matchmakers.

The basic premise is somewhat far-fetched and the plot nothing that hasn't been done before, but there are some engaging scenes and characters and some intense suspense toward the end. The romance between Llewellyn and Jessaline is sweet and steamy, and the addition of the snippy fairies and Llew's original family is a highlight.

The writing is alright, although there are some incongruities between the historical time period and the language and social norms.

Overall, a light and fluffy book with some explicit scenes but nothing too over the top. The characters are interesting enough to continue reading the series.… (mehr)
