Heinrich Dechamps

Prüfung, Wertung und Weiterentwicklung von Flugmotoren (Handbuch der Flugzeugkunde Band VI, I. Teil) by Heinrich Dechamps and Karl Kutzbach, Richard Carl Schmidt & Co., Berlin, 1921, is a textbook for advanced study of contemporary aviation engine design, testing and installation. Material from several test establishment reports, as well as articles, published in Technische Berichte were the basis for corresponding chapters. The book is an excellent snapshot of the German approach to aviation engine design in 1917 / 1918. The owner of my copy (severely worn out now) was a technical officer in Danish army during the early 1920s. He put several marks and meaningful comments on the pages of this book. Because of the deteriorated condition of the cover my copy was not so expensive. The book is worth reading in my opinion.… (mehr)
