Michele Le Doeuff

Michèle Le Doeuff is a French philosopher and feminist writer. Her book The Sex of Knowing (1998) received widespread critical attention in the French press and was translated into English in 2003. Her previous works translated into English are The Philosophical Imaginary (1989) and Hipparchia's Choice: An Essay Concerning Women, Philosophy, Etc. (1991). She is Director of Research at the French National Center for Scientific Research (CNRS), Europe's largest scientific body.
