Interesting story of how one man gets drawn into faerie politics by simply digging up a mound in his garden. Based in Belfast, this sounds genuine and has a fair amount of swearing in it (almost at the everyday casual level of swearing as punctuation as heard around Dublin.

Danny lives a life of quiet desperation, his girlfriend became pregnant and he gave up university to work in a call centre, where honestly the will to live is leaving him (and I know how he felt, I did this job myself at one stage). One day things change when he and a friend dig up a mount in his garden. This is when everything starts to change and he becomes a player in a bigger game that involves his family and friends and future.

I liked it, found it interesting and look forward to reading the next book in the series.½
