Rezensionen

A Métis boy in the 18th or 19th century participates in his family's preparation for creating and celebrating an important lobstick. This was a completely new element of First Nations culture to me. The inclusion of a CD with both the English and Ojibwe texts read aloud made the book much more alive. The artwork alone is remarkable: full-color paintings that are stylized in a distinct manner. There are important elements of Native cultures that have been left out of the broader history that are worthy of celebrating and reviving.
