This is a page turner on a very uncomfortable subject. At the beginning of the book, I had no idea what the central idea for thought would be. I was mesmerized by the expert story telling of the author. Each character was vividly portrayed and I cared about all of them.

By the time that I figured out what the topic was I was frightened and upset because I am 73 years old and I have had to make a direct decision concerning my father was in a coma from a very overwhelming stroke. His doctors asked to make a decision and I did, my step mother never forgave me but I am at peace with what I chose. Recently, someone who I knew who had an incurable cancer made the decision to die with dignity. I heard about her choice after her death but I completely agree that it was right decision. A relative has decided that she will go that way too if her cancer returns.

This is a very difficult book to read. I did not want to finish it after I knew what it was about but I did. It would be a good book to read before you are in the situation like in the book or my life Give yourself some time to think about it. It is an important book for everyone to read.

I received a finished copy as a win from FirstReads. My thoughts and feelings in this review are totally my own.
